Physician (Endocrinologist)

The Endocrinologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
Consulting on various forms of endocrine disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Ordering and interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic studies. Sharing attending call responsibilities with other Endocrinologists in covering some nights, weekend and holiday calls as needed. Leading and managing the Endocrine team consisting of Endocrine fellows, residents, medical students, Pharmacists, Mid-Level Providers while on inpatient service or in clinical setting. Recognition of patients appropriate for referral or consultation with the collaborating physician. Leadership in initializing changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and findings from research and studies. Remaining informed on developments in the management and treatment of diseases and illness through continuing medical education. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferences:
Board certified, with five years clinical and teaching experience. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Interest and experience in the management of diabetes. Involvement in endocrine related research. Qualify for academic affiliate appointment. Reference:

Light lifting, under 15 pounds; light carrying, under 15 pounds; reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; nears vision correctable at 13 to 16 to Jaeger 1 to 4; Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; Hearing (aid may be permitted); Sitting up to 8 hours; clear speech; mental and emotional stability; possible exposure to communicable disease.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
