Applicants must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. The specialized experience requirements for the GS-14 level of this position are:
planning and conducting both independent and multi-disciplinary, team-based research (basic, clinical and/or translational) on the gastrointestinal microbiota as it relates to one or more areas in:
factors regulating growth/development; body composition; childhood obesity; metabolism; developmental origins of diseases; metabolic programming; infant and childhood nutrition, physical activity, gastrointestinal development/function, and gastrointestinal flora; managing personnel, materials, equipment, resources, and facilities needed to accomplish research goals; and analyzing experimental data for peer-reviewed scientific publication and presenting research results at scientific meetings and at other research institutions. At the GS-15:
Applicants must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. leading a team conducting both independent and multi-disciplinary, team-based research (basic, clinical and/or translational) on the gastrointestinal microbiota as it related to one or more areas in:
factors regulating growth/development; body composition; childhood obesity; metabolism; developmental origins of diseases; metabolic programming; infant and childhood nutrition, physical activity, gastrointestinal development/function, and gastrointestinal flora; managing personnel, materials, equipment, resources, and facilities needed to accomplish research goals; and analyzing experimental data for peer-reviewed scientific publication and presenting research results at scientific meetings and at other research institutions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To further support your qualifications, it is strongly recommended that you submit a one-page abstract of your MS thesis and/or Ph.D. dissertation. Failure to do so could result in loss of your consideration/referral. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
