Registered Nurse (PC Care Manager)

Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), features a competent nursing staff providing specialized nursing care from admission through discharge for adult and geriatric patients. Registered Nurse (RN) demonstrates a solid foundation in nursing practice using the nursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation). Further the qualified RN accepts responsibility and maintain accountability for actions and continued professional growth. The qualified RN demonstrates ability to:
communicate and work effectively with others; provide excellent customer service; provide unit level leadership for all levels of staff; and establish professional relationships with specialty and/or health related groups within the community. Duties included but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the observation, treatment and care of the Veteran within the scope of Registered Nurse practice. Assists in the overall clinic management, functions and operations, facilitation of patient flow through the check in and check out process. Provides patient education and/or instructions based on identified needs, education level and ability to learn and validates understanding with appropriate documentation in the medical record. Participates in job/systems redesign activities and other activities that enhance patient care and clinic operations. Maintains patient's privacy and confidentiality. Assists with care coordination, management and facilitates coordination of all services for the patient in the Primary Care Clinic. Works with the patient, significant other and health care team to establish patient centered care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill sufficient to assist with procedures and use of reusable medical equipment as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures. Observation and documentation will include clinical reminders and the reporting of any noted change in the patient's condition to the Physician. Provides leadership in interpreting, supporting and implementing Medical Center and Primary Care Department philosophy, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and quality improvement processes. Serves as consultant in clinical practice. Communicates and works effectively with others. Initiates and leads groups of personnel and interdisciplinary groups. Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated material and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
