Program Support Assistant (OA)

Duties include but not limited to:
Processes all Nursing proficiencies for nurses at Central Arkansas Veterans Health System (CAVHS). Collaborates with Associate Nurse Executives (ANEs), Nurse Managers, and supervisors of nurses to ensure timely submission of proficiencies and appraisals for promotion consideration. Independently coordinates, plans, verifies, and prepares necessary paperwork for the Nurse Professional Standards Board in a timely fashion ensuring accuracy of all documents. Maintains a monitoring system for tracking all phases of the Professional Standards Board processes to ensure timely consideration and communication of results. Collaborates with NPSB chairs to resolve any issues or prepare additional information as requested. Serves as a resource person for all Services in the Medical Center regarding all aspects of RN proficiencies, RN/LPN Professional Standards Board. Facilitates communication with other Services as needed (Human Resources, Credentialing, etc.) Collaborates with Human Resources Management regarding key information needed for boarding. Computer experience with Microsoft Office programs, MS Excel, MSWord, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint. Have working knowledge of these programs, create forms and spreadsheets. Use formulas for processing reports for proficiency timeliness and awards. Serves as technical advisor to Nursing and other Services in the Medical Center regarding proficiency processing, Professional Standards Boards and awards. Serves as the Secretary for the ADPCS/NPSB Chairs meeting. Generate reports for Central Office and others as indicated. Format and create documents for boarding all Title 38 Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses for the entire Medical Center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), (Medical Service, Surgery Service, Mental Health, Central Business Office, etc.). Maintains NPSB and LPNSB membership that is representative of CAVHS staff. Train Nurse Managers and Associate Nurse Executives on how to use the proper forms and create document folders and files in Word and Excel. Format and create documents for boarding all Hybrid Title 38 Licensed Practical Nurses for the entire Medical Center and CBOCs. Ensures timely communication to NPSB members for meetings. Maintains hard copy folders with historical information for NPSB/LPNSB Maintains minutes of each NPSB session. Maintains an electronic monitoring system to track each proficiency/performance appraisal for RNs, APRNs, and LPNs. Create electronic reports in MSWord and MS Excel. Create electronic forms and templates for Special Advancement for Award and Special Advancement for Performance Awards. Maintains manuals and other reference materials electronically as it pertains to Awards, Performance Appraisals, Proficiencies, and Nurse Professional Standards Board for the Medical Center. Collaborates with Associate Director, Patient Care Services (ADPCS) and all Nursing leadership (Deputy ADPCS/Chief, Nurse Executive/ANEs) to ensure proficiencies and boarding occurs timely Independently coordinates plans, verifies and creates electronic forms for the Nurse Professional Standards Board. Provides support to Nursing Recruitment for maintaining databases, follow up with candidates and communication with HR, Credentialing, Employee Health, and others involved in the onboarding processes. Provides assistance to the secretary for the ADPCS, encompassing all tasks and functions of the position. As needed, provides routine clerical support to subordinate segments of the service. Serves as a resource person and role model for other members of the clerical staff. Maintains contact with all areas of administrative function within CAVHS to ensure continuity. Help other Nursing staff with computer questions pertaining to Office product programs. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Able to independently complete a technical review of documents, identify errors, follow up with key stakeholders for corrections and complete documents for submission 4. Able to utilize MS OFFICE (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as expert level 5. Timekeeping (VATAS) experience would be strongly preferred 6. Ability to manage multiple due dates and changes in priority daily 7. Familiar with electronic communication avenues such as TEAMS and WEBEX 8. Written communication skills 9. Ability to record minutes in person and via recordings 10. Purchase Card experience a plus 11. Ability to move safely around an environment, move light weight objects (files, books, etc )12. Work is sedentary. Most work is performed while sitting at a desk. Some walking, standing, bending while carrying light items (papers, files, etc.) is required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
