Supervisory Social Worker (HUD-VASH)

The incumbent is responsible for directing workload among HUD-VASH staff within the Veterans Day Treatment Center, at the homes of HUD-VASH clients and at six Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in areas where Veterans are in rural HUD-VASH housing. Duties:
Verifies Veteran's eligibility status for VA medical care and eligibility for program participation through VA or VBA. Demonstrates ability to collaborate with the Supported Services for Veteran Fam-ilies (SSVF) Program to identify and secure permanent housing for unhoused Vet-erans and share resources to prevent homelessness among Veterans who are at risk of homelessness. Supervises and coordinates care including serving as an advocate on behalf of the Veterans to ensure comprehensive service delivery and linkages that include re-ferring Veterans to the VA Medical Center, VA Regional Offices and/or community agencies. Engages in site visits of HUD/VASH apartments to ensure that Veterans placed in housing by subordinate staff are residing in safe environments in compliance with local Public Housing Authority housing codes. Demonstrates skill in collecting and submitting HUD/VASH Program participant data as outlined by the Northeast Program Evaluation Center (NEPEC) and the Homeless Operations Management System (HOMES) evaluation procedures. Collaborates with VA Medical Center multi-disciplinary teams and community agencies to develop more effective and efficient methods for delivering services to Veterans in the HUD/VASH Program. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education- Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to the CSWE website to verify if that social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a master of social work. Licensure- Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. //vaww.va.gov/OHRM/T38Hybrid/. English Language Proficiency Requirement - Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j, this part. GS 13 Grade Determinations:
Experience/Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as supervisory social workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
(a) Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. (b) Skill in a range of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments and quality improvement. (c) Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services by supervised social workers. (d) Ability to delegate authority, manage priorities, coordinate work, and follow up on pending issues to complete duties in an accurate and timely fashion. (e) Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems, develop and implement solutions that result in efficient operations, and use data effectively to manage workload, quality, performance, and productivity within the service. (f) Ability to provide staff training and development. Preferred

While most of the work in the Homeless Program is of a sedentary nature, due to the nature of the program and its proximity to the medical center, all staff are required to be able to drive a government owned vehicle (GOV). This means that there will be checks of driving records for approval based on driving history including motor vehicle accidents, speeding, etc. There will also periodically be a need for staff to take items to the MH office, to transport specimens to the lab or to transport Veterans for various purposes including:
housing search, background checks, trips to the food bank, transportation to residential treatment facilities etc. Additionally, clinical staff are required to participate in street and shelter outreach activities which may include walking in both urban and rural areas, climbing stairs etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
