Summary
The Computer Operations Coordinator is responsible for technical supervision of computer operations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Typical Functions
Develops, writes, and updates policies and procedures to ensure daily functions and operations are accomplished efficiently and effectively, so that jobs are performed to proper and technical specifications, using mainframe/personal computers, technical manuals, and appropriate software. Assists in hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling employees by advising of the requirements of the position, providing feedback on performance and communicating goals and objectives. Ensures adherence to security procedures to prevent unauthorized access and to protect equipment, staff, sensitive information, and files. Communicates orally and electronically to data processing personnel and network clients to provide information on network functions, scheduled downtime, policies and overall computer usage procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the principles of computer network operations. Knowledge of methods to measure efficiency and effectiveness of computer utilization and performance. Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and updating of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of computer security and environmental control methods. Ability to determine resolutions for technical and personnel problems. Ability to work within time constraints and schedule resources and personnel.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
The formal education equivalent of an associate's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field; plus two years of experience in computer support plus one year of supervisory experience OR Completion of technical training in computer science, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military or industrial setting, plus six years experience in computer support plus one year of supervisory experience. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.

The Computer Operations Coordinator is responsible for technical support and daily operations of computer registry operations. This position serves as the Supervisor of Registry Operations and is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. This position reports to the Public Health Administrator for the CD/Immunizations Division.
HIRING OFFICIALS PREFERENCES: Knowledge of computer operations, security and environmental control methods. Experience in a related electronic reporting system or registry.
Must have a valid drivers' license. Frequent in-state and out-of-state travel may be required. May require being on-call.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
