Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first and second level operational support for Windstream's broadband customers. These data customers are primarily residential or small and medium sized businesses, but may also include independent Internet Service Providers. The position will interface via phone, chat, and trouble ticketing systems with Windstream technicians and front-line technical service representatives. It will also directly interface via phone with business data customers, customer IT personnel, account team managers, and sales engineers.
Work is performed in shifts within a 24x7 Network Operations Center environment. Candidates must be available to work ANY SHIFT, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Primary responsibilities include turning up new static IP broadband service in Windstream's data network, configuring customer premise equipment, handling customer calls, and troubleshooting customer broadband problems. This position may also work with other service providers, engineering groups, and network operations groups to accomplish customer migrations, network changes, upgrades, and repairs. It will also include other duties/technologies as assigned. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of data networking, particularly experience with ATM, ADSL, and/or IP networks is desired. Good customer service skills are a necessary component of the job.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 3-4 years technical/telephony experience with 3
years directly related to the job; or 6
years of directly related telephony or network operations experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience required.
Education:
2-year degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience required. 4-year technical degree preferred.
