General
Summary:
This role is responsible for the direction of very large projects with complex components or a program of interrelated projects, ensuring integration, coordination, timing and consistency of process throughout the program/project lifecycle. This role leads both business and technical programs and projects originating from mulitiple areas of the company.
Practices good tactical project and program management skills based on PMI best practices. Is capable of leading projects using Agile, Scrum and Waterfall development methodologies.
Contributes significantly to the development and maturity of the corporate Project, Program and Portfolio Management process. Provides mentoring for other project managers and project management consulting for associates who manage projects but are not formally trained in project management.
Functional Responsibilities include:
Plans, tracks, manages, and communicates project events, tasks, dependencies, and deliverables
Coordinates and communicates program level deliverables including roadmaps and status reports
Identifies and resolves project risks and issues
Ensure appropriate level of communication for each
Mentors and coaches other project management resources
Develops and manages project costs and budgets
Performs other duties as assigned
Reports to the Director of PMO. Works with multiple departments as applicable to each project. Organizes and facilitates meetings with business users, subject matter experts and IT staff to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures and problems, input and output requirements, data needs and retention, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
The incumbent will work with limited supervision. Leads project team members in their project roles. Manages scope and requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Develops impact statements and presents findings to IT and business partners. This position is responsible for managing project budgets.
Desired Qualifications/Education/
Experience:
Bachelor''s degree in related field or equivalent related exprerience
Knowledge of Telecommunication practices for implementing
PMP or PgMP Certification
Knowledge of Telecommunication system implementation best practices
Experience leading telecommunications projects (Fiber to the Tower, Broadband development and expansion, network system deployment and augmentation)
7 to 10 years project management and/or Engineering experience
6 years project management plus 2 years program management experience
Travel up to 15% may be required.
Minimum Requirements: College degree in a Technical or related field and 8
years professional level experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 12
years professional level related Technical experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience desired.
