The Data Change Implementation (DCIC) performs change management implementation activities affecting the Windstream Service Provider data network. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing change controls and network maintenance activities for Windstream's service provider data network. The network consists of Juniper and Cisco routers, Cisco and Lucent ATM switches and a variety of DSLAMs. Knowledge of data networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, PPP, ATM, and Ethernet. Effective communication skills and team building skills are a essential components of the job.
Work is performed during the 3rd shift (overnight) in an Operations Center type environment with the priority of providing a world class enterprise network experience for our customers. Candidates must be willing to work 3rd shift, including some weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, computer science, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, ATM, Frame Relay and ADSL.
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated technical skills in data networking or closely related field
Knowledge of central office transport equipment including test methods
Understanding of ATM and/or frame relay services, Ethernet and PPP
Knowledge of ADSL equipment, protocols, and networking
Minimum Requirements:
Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 3-4 years technical/telephony experience with 3
years directly related to the job; or 6
years of directly related telephony or network operations experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience required.
