The RN or licensed Paramedic may function as the Circulator.
If the licensed Paramedic functions as the Circulator an RN is readily available to assist as needed.
Circulator administers medications and treatments as ordered by physician.
The RN leads the interdisciplinary care team for patients with primarily cardiovascular disease.
In addition, the Circulator performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode and is supported by the other licensed personnel to comprehensively serve patient needs.
Assumes (under the direction of the Laboratory) responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement and equipment maintenance.
Work ScheduleFlexible schedules to cover all shifts and weekends, as department needs demand.
, rotate call with a 30-minute response time.
Primary DutiesPatient Care:
Documents findings and communicates all pertinent information to interdisciplinary team members as appropriate.
Provides competent direct care and ensures the provision of a safe and comforting environment resulting in a high level of patient satisfaction.
Assists healthcare team members in the understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
Provides education to patients/families/significant others, incorporating population-specific criteria and assessment of readiness to learn.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Maintains standard precautions.
Administers medications and completes treatments according to hospital policy and within population-specific parameters.
Maintains all necessary documentation.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use necessary patient care equipment.
Coordinates response of the interdisciplinary team to emergency situations.
Performs Point-of-Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure.
Documents required information and complies with all Point-of-Care quality control standards.
Qualifications/Specifications Education:
High school graduate or G.
E.
D.
certificate required.
Certificate or Associates degree in emergency medical technology or paramedic training preferred.
Or graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Arkansas EMT certification and/or paramedic certification required.
National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) paramedic certification required.
OR Registered Nurse with current state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact required.
Current ACLS, BLS, PALS certification required on hire.

Minimum of one year paramedic experience.

New graduate nurse or nurse with less than a year of experience Novice skill set RN II must be:
Registered Nurse with one or more years of experience Experience related to home department Novice to intermediate skill set Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Basic Life Support Certified Nurse Practitioner Health Technology Maintenance Medical Emergency Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
