Corman Switching Company is seeking a Train Crew Member to join our team in Little Rock, AR.
Candidate will perform switching, equipment maintenance, and other duties associated with maintaining an efficient switching operation.
Work schedule is full time and hours may vary according to customer needs (operations are 24/7).
Pay starting at $18 / hr! Duties:
Observance of Operating and Safety Procedures These duties include coupling and uncoupling of railcars; lining track switches Working with facility/plant personnel on coordinating railcar moves.
Opening and closing of railcar doors Operating switch engine Perform periodic maintenance which includes:
adding oil to engine, adding sand and water to engine, lubricating all hinges, replacing all worn dc electric motor brushes within locomotive, changing all filters, adding traction motor grease to motors and removing dirt from electrical cabinets Book keeping/filing of track and periodic reports Undergo training to progress to the position of crew member in charge of operating locomotive Perform other switching duties as assigned Job Requirements:
Excellent safety record Available to work daily overtime if needed, weekends and holidays included Ability to lift heavy objects Ability to comprehend switch moves with railcar numbers Must demonstrate vision and hearing abilities relevant to performing duties, safely Must be punctual Good attendance record Ability to work in all weather conditions Physical Requirements:
Mobility to participate in frequent travel along the assigned short line and within the region encompassing the operations.
Requires pulling, controlling, and maneuvering onto and off of equipment.
Occasional lifting of at least 80lbs to perform essential job functions.
Must be able to walk long distances over uneven surfaces.
