8K a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, therapeutic care of the patients in the Pre-op, PACU and Interventional Spine areas.
Assist members of the nursing team in the management of patient care and facilitate case flow from admission to discharge from the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Completes all medical records correctly according to center policy.
Conducts chart audits acurately and as time permits.
Prepares clinical area for the next day.
Checks emergency supplies and equipment.
Plans, implements and practices effective cost reduction techniques.
Restocks clinical area and identifies supplies that need to be reordered.
Administers medication in compliance with policies/procedures and DEA regulations.
Ensure consents have been signed by patient, physician and nurse.
Explain procedure and post operative instructions to patient in a manner they can understand.
Sign and date all physician orders.
Assess patients post op pain and administer medications per physician orders.
Assess patients vitals and respond appropriately.
Assist with dressings.
Enters data to complete required Procedure Log.
Consults with the patient, family caregiver and other team members to coordinate patient care.
Makes pre-op phone call on surgery patients.
Report any abnormal medical history to the physician.
Utilizes knowledge base to educate patients on their surgery.
Pre and Post-op needs.
Demonstrates appropriate use of PPE and compliance to all hazardous exposure requirements.
Carries out treatments or orders within within the scope of practice.
Administration of IV's and IV medications.
Assess safety needs, patients pain level, skin color, circulation, respirations and blood pressure.
Makes post op follow up calls on all the patients.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Monday - Friday (No Holiday, No Weekend, No Call) QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.
g.
data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS RN License, BLS/ACLS PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CNOR, BSN SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED Basic:
Alphanumeric Data Entry, Word Processing, Typing PI226954233.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
