Director, Environmental, Health & Safety

OpportunityThe Director Environment, Health, and Safety owns the functional and cross functional culture through leadership in program, policy, procedure, compliance and ethical responsibility.
The Director will lead the strategy, vision and culture for the organization in concert with management; planning, guiding, and implementing programs to ensure a safe, healthy, environmentally responsible and accident-free work environment.
? Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to ensure EHS programs support and improve functional progress in concert with the operational efficiency of the plants.
Provide functional leadership and drive a strategy that produces and achieves a safe workplace.
Lead, influence and be accountable for Organizational EHS Progress through Plants, Operations, Management and Functional groups.
Actively drive and influence a culture of safety first throughout the business and through cross functional organizations.
Ensure that EHS objectives and standards of performance are understood/owned by management and employees.
Provide technical support to all technical and compliance related supply chain and manufacturing metrics and management systems.
Promote continuous improvement efforts in the EHS function.
Develop and implement programs to ensure regulatory compliance while minimizing risk across all locations.
Standardize operational practices across all sites.
Lead EHS compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge for all Federal, State and Local regulations.
Develop standardized metrics and track performance.
Work with insurance provider to reduce risk.
Conduct internal audits of all locations to verify compliance to all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
Partner with leaders on investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material & evidence for organizational use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
Represent the organization in community or industry EHS groups and programs.
Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes- Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.
? Key Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, EH&S, Engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution.
Master's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related technical field preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role developing and implementing EHS policies and standards.
Demonstrated success in leading and implementing EHS programs and systems in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated understanding of standard EHS reporting methods and metrics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.
S.
without sponsorship.
Broad understanding of federal, state and local regulations and the ability to translate any concerns into an effective action plan.
Strong leadership, organization and project management skills.
Ability to coach and communicate across all hierarchical levels.
Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom's core values The salary range for this position is $119,925 - $175,890/ year.
The hiring base salary / wage rate range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.

? Additional Requirements This position is considered a hybrid role and the candidate must live within commuting distance to any of Vestcom's sites.
Site locations to oversee include:
Cerritos, Auburn, Phoenix, New Century, Dallas, La Vergne, Lewis Center, Charlotte, Bensalem, South Easton Travel is required at a minimum of 30%-40% All Vestcom employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
