The Bowen Summer Public Interest Fellowship will be granted to five (5) students who intend to dedicate ten (10) weeks to working full-time in the public sector.
Applicants are responsible for securing their public service experience with a reputable public interest employer.
Preference will be given to applicants who dedicate their time to organizations that cannot compensate them.
This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
In addition to these five (5) fellowships, a fellowship is available for students who wish to work in an Arkansas rural community.
Applicants are responsible for securing their public service experience with a reputable public interest employer.
Preference will be given to applicants who are dedicating their time to organizations that cannot compensate them.
This fellowship has been funded by Wilson & Associates.
Each selected fellow will receive a $6,000 stipend, an initial $1,000 - the remainder will be received bi-monthly.
Qualifications:
Required Education and or
Experience:
Applicants must have completed at least two semesters of full-time law school study (or equivalent credits for part-time students).
Applicants who dedicate their time to organizations that cannot compensate them.
Job Duties:
Students will work full-time for 12 weeks with a public service organization during the summer months; Performing legal research; Drafting documents Completing other tasks, as requested Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to perform legal research using a computer and/or physical materials Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
